After waking up late and getting chewed out by the Sergeant the night before, the Sergeant threatens to leave Chris in the desert if he wakes up late again. Chris awakes late the next morning to find out that the Sergeant and the whole platoon have left him stranded in the desert with only his rucksack. Chris vows to show the Sargent that he can survive the desert and make it back to the platoon.
